Deaf Merlin, another fic ^^
Jul. 24th, 2011 02:39 am Thanks to the lovely anon who recced me some deaf!Merlin fics previously, I'm able to talk to you about this other Arthur/Merlin Modern AU. If anyone know about it having been de-anoned, I'd love to know!

Prompt : Arthur/Merlin est. relationship (modern) Arthur introduces Merlin to Gwen and Morgana for the first time (double date?) and they realise that he's deaf. Half way through the date/day out Arthur starts signing to Merlin (because . . . the music gets too loud/feedback-y to use his hearing aids or something) and Gwen and Morgana are really impressed at how much dedication he's putting into the relationship.

This fic is really really cute. This is about love, and Arthur being an ex-heartbreaking/macho/git being completely besotted with Merlin and slowly discovering the best part of himself. I love it because we follow Morgana's POV andwe can feel she loves her brother even though he's a prat, and then she's so happy when she sees him change! This is an amazing piece of joy!

This is kind of a pre-slash fic, but this is mostly the story of how Merlin is slowly arriving into Arthur's life, and creating a place for himself. This is a sweet, slow story, without any angst whatsoever just the way life unfolds to become happier. This is a truly lovely story.
