A wonderful, wonderful fic, where Merlin and Arthur are the voices of cartoon characters for a popular (gay friendly) tv show. This is a whole lot of fun. And there's also a sequel No People Like Show People where they discover fanfictions and fanarts, and this is really great !

It's about what Ygraine would think of what happened during the twenty first years of Arthur's life, while she was away, how she can change things after she came back, and how it'd affect everyone and everything. This is a fic I read a long time ago, and for some reason I stumbled on it today and remembered how much I loved it. I'm in a Canon Era mood, lately, so you can expect more of those... It's a Merlin/Arthur Canon Era, then:

A/S : Merlin goes home to Ealdor for two weeks and Arthur is not at all bothered by this. No really, he isn’t. Assumes kind of established relationship (as in, Arthur’s about to find out just how established it is).

This fic is Arthur-centric and wonderfully so. It tells us how besotted he is and how oblivious he insists to be about that, and how all the castle is aware of this. And there's an onion. All in all this is an incredibly endearing fic, with a very convincing Arthur and you end up with a big grin on your face. It can mend your heart even if it does't need mending...
I know I ought to do a post about what's happening to me (I intend to do one, I really do!!) but I'm now in the middle of my lunch break and I just read a very very beautiful fic, and I felt the urge to rec it... So here's a Arthur/Merlin Canon Era AU for you:

This fic is a bit difficult to talk about. The world is different, a lot of things are, but it's strong and beautiful and amazing. Merlin is like an older version of himself, what he would have become if he was older, and met Arthur later. There's no explicit slash in this story, but it isn't gen either, because there are so many feelings. We follow Arthur's POV, and it's amazing because even though he's 18, he's still the prince, and then has a certain education. All in all, this could almost be read as an Original, except that knowing the characters, their looks and everything is making the story even richer.

Sep. 8th, 2011 06:44 amFor a moment, I thought I wouldn't post a rec again, because some people in fandom are disgusting me, and I didn't want anything to do with them. But who would I be if I stopped doing what I like to do and sharing what I love because some people have nothing better to do with their lives than telling anonymous hate over people's back? Beside, even if they feel so powerful, they are a very small minority. Mostly, fandom is about love, and let's not forget that.

I loved the movie so much, I couldn't not read this. And I was not disappointed. It starts like the movie, awesome as it is, and then, slowly, the author's choices, and the show's characteristic (especially Merlin's characterization, which is breathtaking in this fic) are taking over, and things diverty from the movie... But the important bits are here (including the famous speech, which makes me very emotionnal, because it's a beautiful speech)... and then it goes further the movies timeline, because Arthur and Merlin are in love, and that requires some talk, right? The ending is beautiful, and I'll leave you to discover it by yourself.
